Our son now, 58, received his first communion in 1957. The first communicants were about the same age and the boys sang a Hymn I've never heard before or after. The lyrics are , "Jesus,Jesus, I've been waiting for this Happy, Happy day.
I received my first Communion will You, with me, always stay.
I've scanned several web sites. It could have been written for the occasion by an unknown writer .
It was sung at the Sacred Heart Church in Lancaster Pennsylvania.
Please help our Grandaughter is getting ready to receive Our Lord and we mentioned the Hymn to the DRE but she never heard of it and asked us to find it and she would ask Father if it was appropriate.
