Awesome Reading

Nothing like a great second reading at Mass to put your heart at rest and put things in perspective a bit:

Brothers and sisters:
Have no anxiety at all, but in everything,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
make your requests known to God.
Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding
will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters,
whatever is true, whatever is honorable,
whatever is just, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious,
if there is any excellence
and if there is anything worthy of praise,
think about these things.
Keep on doing what you have learned and received
and heard and seen in me.
Then the God of peace will be with you. Phil 4:6-9

Lisa, reading that made me think of my personal favorite:

Behold, the nations are as a drop in the bucket, and are counted as the small dust in the balance.

All nations before Him are as nothing; they are counted to Him less than nothing, and vanity.

He bringeth the princes to nothing.

He maketh the judges of the earth as a vanity.

Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth ,fainteth not; neither is weary.

And to them that have no strength, He increaseth might.

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.

They shall mount up with wings, as eagles.

They shall run, and not be weary.

They shall walk, and not faint.

-- Isaiah, Chapter 40

Hey you! Thanks for sharing that - I love it too! It reminds me of Daddy and of Chariots of Fire for some reason. Hi to that Meg and hugs to both of you! L.
