Finding the Hidden Treasure

I love the readings from Mass today - all three of them are packed with grace and meaning. I found myself contemplating Solomon's position in the first reading - if God came to me in a dream and invited me to ask something of Him, how short would I fall from Solomon's very humble request for wisdom?! Miles, I'm sure - I likely would have asked God for some sort of robot that was efficient at cooking, cleaning and especially putting away laundry!

In the second reading, Greg and I exchanged a knowing smile at the reciting of our Bible Study mentors' favorite verse:

We know that all things work for the good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.

How often, around our Bible Study table over the past decade, we have heard Marlene and Lyman share those confident words that God does indeed have a unique plan for each of us!

As for the parables of the Gospel, you can read my simple reflection on the parable of the Hidden Treasure over at Faith and Family Live. I invite you to join me this week on the greatest treasure hunt ever!
