In a New York State of Mind

We're on the road again - we'll be leaving in a few hours to head to New York City for a quick (too quick) trip to an EM conference. We've taken this same trip for the past three years, and always have a wonderful time. We stay at the Marriott Marquis in the heart of Times Square. I hope to find time to blog from the road, but if not I'll be back at my desk Monday.

As someone I know says, "It's good to be a Hendey!"

On the subject, I just have to share this; something I've never shared before--I just found out recently myself. The story goes, my great-grandfather received a letter in the mail telling him that he was the last living person connected with the ownership of a piece of property in New York. My mother's memory is hazy about whether it was Times Square or Central Park--but can you imagine?--he laughed at it and threw it away. Unclaimed, it became state's property. Geesh! However, my son had a great point: if my great-grandfather had claimed the property, none of us would probably be here....Food for thought. I hope you have a wonderful time!
