Odds and Ends

First off, if you've emailed me lately, please be patient. I have this weird situation going on where I can receive email, but can't send it. Replies will be forthcoming when I return home next week...thanks for your patience.

Someone requests the following:
I was wondering if you might know the words to the Ten Commandments song that we learned in catholic school ..way back in the 60's?
it goes something like...first, i must honor God, second honor His name, third on His day keep holy this will be my aim, fourth I must be obedient...etc...i can't find anyone that knows the rest of the little song and i wanted to teach it to my class this year that is preparing for their First Holy Communion. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
yours in Christ...patti

If you know the answer to Patti's question, post a reply here or drop me an email.

Okay--maybe I can get you a little farther and you can piece in the missing words: Fifth be kind and true. Sixth be pure in all I say and see and hear and do. Seventh, I must be honest and be truthful in all things I say. Eighth, be pure in mind and heart, and all I think and desire each day. Ninth.....Tenth.... These are God's Ten Commandments. These I must obey. ...Wish I could've remembered how those last ones went. Hope this helps.

Hello
It is probably a bit late now but I have just seen your site...I know the 10th one!!!
Tenth, I must be satisfied not be jealous come what may...these are God's ten commandments, these I must obey...
AND you had it all!!!
Seventh, I must be honest
Eighth, be truthful in all things I say
Ninth, be pure in mind and heart, in all I think and desire each day.
Hope you see this!!

Back in the late 60's we had to know our 10 commandments in order to make our confirmation. Our teacher taught us this song. Over the years I forgot some of the lyrics. I was talking to a friend about this song that made it easy to remember 10 commandments, but couldn't remember all the lyrics. I was happy to find them on your blog. Thank you.

I was looking for this song too, having attended Immaculata Catholic school in St Laurent in the 60's. I vividly remember standing in the gym in assembly and the entire school would sing this song. I had remembered most of it except for a few words which were mixed in sequence; I think that your third line should read "Third honor His day keep holy....". Thank you for putting the words out there for all of us to retrieve and enjoy!
